HIF Tasmania

Tasmania, Australia

About

HIF Tasmania will be Australia’s first commercial-scale e-Fuels facility and is located near Burnie in North West Tasmania. The facility will use renewable energy from the local grid to power electrolyzers and residue biomass from the state’s sustainable forestry industry is an option for the project’s CO₂ source.

The project anticipates making use of Burnie’s existing deep water port to export 330,000 tons of e-Methanol per year once operational and helps underpin the further growth of renewable energy in Tasmania.
